Meditation from the Heart

We adapt to our culture and our culture molds who we are. We all have our spiritual or religious beliefs.   We learn how to pray, and when to worship and follow certain religious and/or spirituals beliefs or rituals.  Then there are distractions of the world; always distracting us from what is important, saturating our unruly minds, wasting energy on useless matters.  It not only disrupts our already unruly mind, but also our hearts.

Science tells us the heart, like the brain, generates a powerful electromagnetic field with each contraction extending outside the body. The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body. The electrical field as measured in an electrocardiogram (ECG) is about 60-100 times greater in amplitude than brain waves.  The therapeutic potential for interaction of this cardioelectromagnetic field both within and outside the body is largely unexplored, but we do know there is increasing evidence suggesting that the cardioelectromagentic field actually affects human beings in close proximity. We have already learn how group meditation can reduce crime with the right intention.

Science is just now trying to understand what the ancients were saying in their sacred texts written centuries ago. Christianity, Hinduism, Buddha, Daoism are just a few that refer to the heart.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. Matthew 6:21

“The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart.” Buddha

My teachings are older than the world.
How can you grasp their meaning?
If you want to know me,
Look inside your heart.”
   Tao Te Ching

“He is the source of light in all luminous objects. He is beyond the darkness of matter and is unmanifested. He is knowledge, He is the object of knowledge, and He is the goal of knowledge. He is situated in everyone’s heart.”  The Bhagavad Gita
