Meditation and Rainbows

Meditation is the new buzz word for the west and we are learning the positive benefits to our well being.  Meditation can have positive effects on our lives and what we do, so let’s explore meditation and the possibilities.  Meditation is defined as thinking deeply or focusing one’s mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation.  Meditation is the all-embracing sense of oneness, an intimate connection to yourself and the world around you.cropped-healing-from-the-inside-out.jpg

Based on Hindu Scripture, meditation has been practiced since 1500 BCE, starting as a religious practice.  The practice spread to China and India around the fifth century BCE and other forms of Meditation developed within religions including Taoism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity.

The bible speaks of meditation in Psalm 1:1-2 which says “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; (2) but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.”

In Joshua 1:8 God tells Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.”

Buddha said “Meditation brings wisdom; lack of mediation leaves ignorance.  Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.”

Now the Catholic Church is recognizing the benefits of meditation.  As we seek and explore the truth, our past has much to offer.  What are the ancients telling us about meditation?

Is there a much deeper meaning for which daily meditation practice could raise our awareness and awaken the consciousness?  With countless belief systems all striving f6280c59a4a90cb94a785f77f97dd826--mind-body-spirit-chakra-healingtoward the same goal, meditation may be most beneficial in our endeavor to connect to our higher power.  God, known by many different names in different languages, is ultimately the one Infinite Creator.  Consider, within each of us we have a divine spark, our soul, spirit, the essence of our being, pure energy.  Energy is made up of  Chakras, centers of spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number. Each center has a color and all seven represents a rainbow. Rainbows appear in seven colors of the spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet).  Each Chakra center is controlled by emotions.

The first step is understanding our energy centers.  The illustrations provides a guide for a better understanding.  Based on the Law of One, our challenge is to unblock our first three chakras and develop our  4th, the heart or green ray, and 5th, the blue-ray.  In session 15.12 in the “Law of One” Ra said, “The center of heart, or green ray, is ee2c9aa37eb3dda8e3d572006e469858--chakra-meditation-chakra-healingthe center from which third-density beings may springboard, shall we say, towards infinite intelligence.  Blockages in this area may manifest as difficulties in expressing what you may call universal love or compassion.”

“The blue-ray center of energy streaming is the center which, for the first time, is outgoing as well as inpouring.  Those blocked in this area may have difficulty in grasping the spirit/mind complexes of its own entity and further difficulty in expressing such understandings of self. Entities blocked in this area may have difficulties in accepting communication from other mind/body/spirit complexes.”

Tiso, a Catholic priest, scholar, and writer interested in inter-religious dialogue and Tibetan Buddhism was a witness to the death of Khenpo A-chos, a Gelugpa monk of Khams who died in 1998 resulting a rainbow body or “body of light” after death.  It is reported that in the last 1,200 years, there have been approximately 160,000 documented cases of people turning into literal light bodies.  Rainbow bodies may be another way to ascend, the resurrection of the divine spark, soul or spirit, an energy transfer.  66cfa3a8df5d499550338f2a824ee448--lao-tzu-quotes-zen-quotes

From a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual standpoint, the benefits of meditation are countless. Daily Meditation practice, a few minutes in the morning and a few minutes in the evening to start.  Try to clear the mind for just a few minutes each day.  Make it a habit and in time you will realize difference it will make
