Nag Hammadi Library

The Nag Hammadi Library is a collection of 13 ancient leather-bound papyrus codices containing 52 mostly Gnostic Christian texts, discovered in Egypt in 1945. Dated to the 4th century CE, these Coptic translations of earlier Greek works provide crucial insight into early Christian diversity, including the famous Gospel of Thomas.
