This is humanities Dark Night of The Soul. We are in spiritual crisis unaware of what is happening right before our eyes. It is going to be painful and arduous journey toward union with the Divine. We are going through a painful suffering as we venture through a long spiritual darkness as we realize what has been happening before our very eyes. We have become complacent. We have to resolve and release the old before we can transfer into the new. During the dark night of the soul, many may experience disbelief, confusion and reinterpretation of the boundaries we have established for ourselves. 
Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:5-7, ” And whoever welcomes one child like this in my name welcomes me. But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to fall away; it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea.
