Ra: I am Ra. There is but one technique for this growing or nurturing of will and faith, and that is the focusing of the attention. The attention span of those you call children is considered short. The spiritual attention span of most of your peoples is that of the child. Thus it is a matter of wishing to become able to collect one’s attention and hold it upon the desired programming.
This, when continued, strengthens the will. The entire activity can only occur when there exists faith that an outcome of this discipline is possible.

Zelensky’s deputy chief of staff is among the Ukrainian officials who have lost their positions
Kirill Timoshenko has resigned as deputy head of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s office, after the head of state pledged to shake up the government.
The reshuffle, which the president announced in his daily video address on Tuesday morning, will affect officials “on different levels, in ministries and other bodies of central and provincial authority, and law enforcement.”
Timoshenko is the most senior official whose removal from office has been confirmed so far. He published his signed resignation letter on social media in a farewell post.
Some Ukrainian news outlets have said he will be replaced with Aleksey Kuleba, head of the Kiev Region, and that Timoshenko may be put in charge of a provincial administration.
Another senior official heading for the exit is Deputy Prosecutor General Aleksey Simonenko, according to reports. Earlier this month he sparked outrage by spending the New Year holidays in Spain.
Aside from the bad optics of relaxing at a foreign resort during wartime, the trip raised suspicions of corruption, as Simonenko allegedly used a car that belongs to a wealthy businessman, and was accompanied by a bodyguard employed by the car’s owner.
Following the incident, the Ukrainian National Security Council issued an order banning officials from crossing the national border unless they are on state business.
Simonenko’s resignation was officially confirmed by Zelensky’s office later in the day.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov was apparently spared on Monday, after the Ukrainian parliament declined to take action against him over a graft scandal.
A media investigation claimed on Saturday that the ministry was buying food supplies worth hundreds of millions of dollars for troops, at prices that were several times higher than in Ukrainian retail chains.
Reznikov told lawmakers that the documents cited in the investigation were inaccurate, and that some prices were inflated due to a “technical error”. Other items legitimately included costs that retail prices do not, he claimed, arguing that the comparison was not valid.
Some members of parliament accepted the minister’s explanations, but the Ukrainian anti-corruption body NABU continues to investigate the graft allegations.
Last week, NABU indicted Andrey Kobolev, the former CEO of state-owned energy company Naftogaz. In 2018, he awarded himself a $10 million bonus for achievements in legal battles with Russia’s Gazprom.
NABU alleges that Kobolev overstated the financial benefit that he and other executives secured for the Ukrainian company, and consequently took unreasonably high level of compensation.

Divine Intervention at Work?
There seems to a divine intervention that is happening around the world and all at once. There is a vibrating constant energetic motion within all things, we can refer to Universal Intelligence, or God or even the Field. Scientist have proven there is a electromagnetic field living in everything in the universe. The late Dr. Valerie V. Hunt, scientist, author, lecturer and Professor Emeritus of Physiological Science at the University of California, confirmed electromagnetic energy is the most plentiful constant energy of our universe. It is a part of all structures living and dead, including the atmosphere. We create electromagnetic energies in the atoms of our living cells, which we enhance by the reaction with the atmospheric energy field. We know this expanded energy field as the human aura. Without this biofield life would not exist and there would be only an inner biochemical mix. Dr. Hunt was involved in research that is uncovering the various dimensions involved in the bioenergetic transactions between humans and the environment as they relate to human behaviors, emotions, health, illness, and disease, as well as scientifically quantifying the human aura and the levels of consciousness it contains. What does that mean?
Dr. Joe Dispenza, is a researcher who healed himself after breaking 6 vertebrae in his back after being told he would never walk again. Through meditation, visualizations and his belief system, after nine and a half weeks after the accident, he got up and walked, without having any body cast or any surgeries.
So how do we work with the field? We get to know ourselves. The most demanding part of self awareness is the mind must be known to itself. If the mind knows itself then the most important aspect of of self awareness has occurred as consciousness is the microcosm of the Oneness. In other words, the macrocosmic intelligence, the field, which guides the birth and processes of the universe is reflected on a microcosmic scale in each of us. As energetic beings, we are radiating positive and negative energy by our thoughts, emotions and actions, creating our reality with all its distortions and confusion.
To know yourself is the same message Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Krishna and many others have been trying to tell us through the centuries. Lao Tzu tells us “Wisdom come from knowing oneself. He who knows himself is enlightened”. In the dialogue of the Savior Jesus said “Those who have truly found the Self within recognized that it exists everywhere.” Buddha added, “Everyone has recognized the self-ones essential nature. But few have realized it.”
Our emotions are part of the field as we create our new world. We all have the divine gift of discernment, the act or process of exhibiting keen insight and good judgment. In its broadest sense, discernment is closely related to wisdom as an expression of God. Discernment alone can bring about a sense of balance between our physical and metaphysical worlds. We are all part of this creation, know yourself and realize we are the divine intervention.

RE: Brunson v. Alma S. Adams et al
No.: 22-380
Dear Justices,
This letter is to express my support of the above referenced case. I am concerned that the United States has experienced a national security breach and a violation of every citizens’ greatest power in a Republic: voting. I ask that you stand against the interference of foreign and domestic enemies and uphold the supreme law of the land by granting this petition. You truly are in a position that represents a court system greater than the world has ever seen. I, along with many others, seem to be witnessing our nation captured and I am left to wonder if it might be by some of these very respondents. I pray for the right and just outcome and I am
grateful for your time and consideration.
QUESTIONS PRESENTED
A serious conflict exists between decisions rendered from
this Court and lower appeal courts, along with
constitutional provisions and statutes, in deciding whether
or not the trial court has jurisdiction to try the merits of
this case.
This case uncovers a serious national security breach that
is unique and is of first impression, and due to the serious
nature of this case it involves the possible removal of a
sitting President and Vice President of the United States
along with members of the United States Congress, while
deeming them unfit from ever holding office under Federal,
State, County or local Governments found within the
United States of America, and at the same time the trial
court also has the authority, to be validated by this Court,
to authorize the swearing in of the legal and rightful heirs
for President and Vice President of the United States.
In addition there are two doctrines that conflict with each
other found in this case affecting every court in this
country. These doctrines are known as the doctrine of
equitable maxim and the doctrine of the object principle of
justice. Equitable maxim created by this court, which the
lower court used to dismiss this case, sets in direct violation
of the object principle of justice also partially created by
this Court and supported by other appeal courts and
constitutional provisions.
These conflicts call for the supervisory power of this Court
to resolve these conflicts, which has not, but should be,
settled by this Court without delay.

‘All the real skinheads went to Ukraine’: An American Neo-Nazi outlines the crimes of his Ukrainian ‘colleagues’
Kent ‘Boneface’ McLellan says that Americans are being misinformed about the Ukraine conflict and they are led to believe ‘Russia decides to bomb the f**k out of places for no reason’
Earlier this month, Juan Sinmiedo, who runs a popular Telegram channel documenting human rights abuses in Ukraine, published an explosive interview with ‘Boneface’ – real name Kent McLellan – a 32-year-old Neo-Nazi from Florida who joined the fascist volunteer Right Sector group during the Donbass war, and returned to to fight alongside the Azov Battalion in January 2022.
The discussion with McLellan shatters many myths and lies that have been circulated about the Maidan coup, the current conflict in Ukraine, and the disturbingly strong influence of nationalist movements within the country.
McLellan, the son of the front man of Neo-Nazi rock band Brutal Attack, got involved with far-right activism while just a teenager, and had numerous run-ins with the law for subversive, racially-charged activities. He and other members of the racist organization American Front were detained by the FBI in May 2012, for preparing terrorist acts against ethnic minorities in Florida.
It was this background that led him to travel to Ukraine in 2014. The American fascist circles he moved in had direct links and regular contact with nationalist groups at the forefront of the Maidan, which at the time were hosting large public events “nearly daily in every Oblast that wasn’t seeing war.” As did far-right movements in many other nearby countries, including Finland, Georgia, and Latvia.
“In case the world wonders what happened to all the real skinheads. They all went to Ukraine,” McLellan said.
It seems the US government approved of the presence of McLellan and others in Ukraine at that time. He says he got caught – it’s not clear by whom or what – teaching Ukrainians DNS poisoning, and the Americans “wanted to sit in and help.”

“They didn’t want names or anything, but they wanted to monitor the situation. Without this backing I would’ve been charged with violation of [the] American neutrality act,” McLellan claims.
Unpunished war crimes
In 2015, an absolutely horrific video began circulating, which purportedly depicted members of the Azov Battalion crucifying a Russian resident of eastern Ukraine, then setting the cross upon which he was literally and bloodily nailed on fire. Around the same time, another clip – titled “Kikes get the rope” – featuring a hanged pregnant woman and her husband, also proliferated online. It was claimed the pair were Jews who had been lynched by Azov fighters.
Multiple Ukrainian and Western government-funded factchecking websites, including the Neo-Nazi sympathizing StopFake, declared the footage to be fraudulent, and did so again in chorus when the gruesome visuals resurfaced widely following February 24.
The Azov Battalion has also repeatedly denied that their fighters were responsible for either heinous act, although their defense was not compelling. It was simply claimed that the Azov logo on the murderers’ uniforms was “much larger than it should be.”
The testimony of McLellan confirms those videos are very real. He in fact features in the crucifixion footage, and took photos of Tornado fighters posing with the corpses of the hanged couple. Though the pair were not in fact Jewish, and their ritualistic murder was too extreme even for his violent tastes – “I wouldn’t have supported an action like that,” he says.
On the subject of Tornado, McLellan refers to the fascist paramilitary battalion as “by far the most horrifying thing I’ve ever seen or dealt with in my life.”
Read moreUkraine’s neo-Nazi Azov Battalion has built a ‘state within a state,’ and it despises both Russia and the liberal West
Investigations by Western rights groups concluded that Tornado inflicted absolutely brutal torture on captured separatist fighters and innocent civilians in the Donbass. Prisoners were stripped naked, held in basements, and electric shocks were applied to their genitals and other body parts. Some detainees were forced to rape each other under threat of death.
McLellan was involved in some of Tornado’s savage “interrogations” and suggests that “the treatment of such people is the same with the Russians, I would guess,” in reference to soldiers captured since February 24. A number of Tornado fighters were eventually jailed by the Ukrainian government for their actions. Despite their rap sheets – including the rape of children, torture, and the cold-blooded murder of civilians – they somehow avoided war crimes charges, and typically got light sentences.
For example, the battalion’s founder, Ruslan Onishenko, a sadistic pedophile, received just 11 years in prison in 2017. He is one of several Tornado fighters released from prison by President Vladimir Zelensky since the conflict started, and sent to fight in the “hottest spots.”
Two different wars
Upon his return to Ukraine at the start of this year, Boneface enlisted with the Azov Battalion, and quickly became involved in the fight for Mariupol, which led to him witnessing “a lot of heinous s**t.”
He describes the early stages of the battle as “a lot of shooting at absolutely nothing, and a lot of soldiers not knowing what to do,” and he felt that the citizens of Mariupol “were divided heavily on a pro-Ukraine and pro-Russian stance.” During this time, McLennan alleges, Azov was in talks with the CIA and the Pentagon, which “conducted intelligence operations during the war there.”
It is “American meddling in Ukraine” that caused Russia’s invasion, McLennan believes. While not viewing Russia as “the victim,” he accepts that the country was provoked by Kiev and the West. He is very critical of his fellow countrymen for not knowing that places such as Ossetia exist, or Georgia’s invasion of it.
They just think Russia decides to bomb the f**k out of places for no reason,” McLennan says.
Boneface was shipped back to the US “on an order” after Ukrainian Security Services operatives were busted planning to kill him in a hospital in Kiev. He continues to support Azov “to the fullest,” but he doesn’t support the EU or NATO, and feels if the latter was to get involved in the conflict, “there won’t be anything, as far as a nationalist goes, worth or left fighting for.” McLennan says “there was massive celebration when Ukraine was denied for NATO.”
For him, this reflects how the Ukraine conflict is effectively two wars – the one the nationalists are fighting, and the one the state is fighting, and the two are “entirely different.” He foresees Azov and other nationalist groups being thrown under the bus by Kiev in the future, “once their usefulness for the NATO regime ran out.”
Echoing the words of the assassinated chief of the Right Sector, “we’re not finished yet, in the Maidan.” McLennan concludes by saying, “I would like to see Russia just go home, and while the government in Kiev is frail, another [Maidan] revolution.”

Officials across the United States are continuing to spread misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, The Epoch Times has found.
The claims include unsupported or misleading statements about vaccine effectiveness and safety.
The vast majority of officials responsible for the misinformation were unable or unwilling to provide evidence backing their claims.
The Louisiana Department of Health is among those exaggerating vaccine effectiveness. The agency claims in a promotional message that the vaccines “are 100% effective at preventing serious hospitalizations and deaths.”
The message does not cite any evidence and the department did not respond to a request for comment.
Clinical trials for the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines estimatedeffectiveness against severe illness at 100 percent, but studies since then have shown the protection starts much lower and drops quickly. That’s led to the clearance and recommendation of boosters, which confer a boost that also wanes.
Louisiana’s statement is one of many that rely on data from 2021, before the Omicron virus variant emerged, or even 2020. That data has little connection with the present state of the pandemic.
South Dakota’s health department, meanwhile, says that “Nearly everyone in the United States who is getting severely ill, needing hospitalization, and dying from COVID-19 is unvaccinated.”
Such statements are “directly related” to the drop in public confidence in health authorities during the pandemic, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine at Stanford University, told The Epoch Times after reviewing a sample of the claims.
“The public understands when they’re being manipulated,” he added.
Many state health agencies are offering falsehoods about COVID-19 vaccine safety and effectiveness, or downplaying negative information about the shots—a continuation of a trend that dates back to when the vaccines became available in late 2020.
One theme emerged over the summer—hyping vaccine effectiveness for young children after U.S. authorities authorized and recommended the Pfizer and Moderna shots for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
“We welcome having COVID-19 vaccines to help protect our youngest Marylanders against severe illness, hospitalization, or even death from this virus and strongly encourage parents to vaccinate their children,” Maryland Health Secretary Dennis Schrader said in a statement.
“Clinical trials proved that the pediatric vaccine is an effective way to prevent COVID infection and serious illness in young children,” the Massachusetts Department of Public Health says on its website.
But the clinical trials for the age group weren’t able to measure efficacy against severe illness, which has been acknowledged by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“The clinical trials were not powered to detect efficacy against severe disease in this young population,” Dr. Sara Oliver, a CDC medical officer, told a meeting over the summer.
Saying the vaccines protect young children against severe disease “is a leap of faith,” Dr. David McCune, a hematology and oncology doctor in Washington state, told The Epoch Times. “It’s not supported by the research.”
Officials in every state were asked to provide evidence for dubious or false statements. Maryland officials pointed to a CDC page that did not support Schrader’s statement. Massachusetts officials did not respond to an inquiry.
False Statements on New Boosters
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently authorized updated booster shots from Moderna and Pfizer. The CDC then recommended them for virtually all Americans aged 12 and older, and later enabled children 5 to 11 to get one of the new shots.
Clinical trials for the bivalent boosters, which contain spike protein components targeting the original COVID-19 strain and the BA.4/BA.4 Omicron subvariants, were not done—and have not been completed—on any group of humans as of yet.
Officials relied on data from testing in mice, data from the original vaccines, and a BA.1/Wuhan bivalent that has never been available in the United States.
The testing on that bivalent, done in adults 18 and older (Moderna) and adults 55 and older (Pfizer), showed that the updated boosters triggered higher levels of antibodies than the old boosters. But the trials didn’t provide any efficacy estimates for protection against infection or severe illness.
The dearth of data didn’t stop states from promoting the vaccines as tools that would definitely work.
“Adding a component to the boosters that specifically targets the subvariants currently circulating will help restore protection against COVID-19 infections, including hospitalizations, that has decreased over time,” Dr. Dean Sidelinger, Oregon’s state epidemiologist, said in a statement.
“The updated bivalent COVID-19 booster, along with the flu vaccine, give parents two powerful tools to protect their children from severe illness and hospitalization,” Dr. Sameer Vohra, the director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, said.
Officials in Oregon and Illinois did not respond to requests for comment.
Minimizing Side Effects
Many states emphasize how most side effects are mild. That’s true, according to data from the CDC and studies. But a number of states fail to mention serious side effects, like heart inflammation, that have been linked to the vaccines.
New York, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, for instance, didn’t mention myocarditis, a form of heart inflammation, or thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS), a severe blood clotting issue.
Most of the states that did mention myocarditis promoted the idea that the incidence of myocarditis is higher after COVID-19 infection than after COVID-19 vaccination.
“Myocarditis and pericarditis are much more common if you get sick with COVID-19,” the Washington state Department of Health says on its website.
“The risk of developing myocarditis after a COVID-19 infection is much higher than the risk of developing myocarditis after the vaccine,” the Alabama Department of Public Health said in a press release over the summer.
But more papers show a higher rate of myocarditis after vaccination in high-risk groups, especially young men, including one provided by authorities in Alabama.
Asked for evidence for its statement, Alabama officials sent a link to a British study published after its release was issued. But the study detected a higher risk for young males, or men aged younger than 40 years old, after vaccination.
After that was pointed out, Alabama officials stopped responding.
Some states, like Oregon, say no deaths have been linked to myocarditis after COVID-19 vaccination. Researchers around the world, including with the CDC, have determined there’s a causal link between myocarditis and the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which both utilize messenger RNA (mRNA) technology. And autopsies and medical records have confirmed deaths from myocarditis among the vaccinated.
Florida and othercountriesrecommend against or don’t advise messenger RNA vaccination, or the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, for some age groups due to myocarditis.
TTS is an often-fatal form of blood clotting that happens on occasion after receipt of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, according to federal officials. The FDA restricted the Johnson & Johnson vaccine due to TTS.
Dr. Danice Hertz, who was injured by a vaccine, says that the statements underline her experience with the health care system and top federal officials. That includes the FDA not acknowledging how many Americans have actually been injured by one of the shots.
“I blame the FDA and our federal government for creating this environment where doctors don’t know anything about vaccine injuries,” she said.
Outdated Information
A number of states still cite data from 2021 or even 2020, even though over half a dozen new variants have emerged since COVID-19 first appeared.
“FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccines protect against Delta and other known variants,” the Oklahoma State Department of Health says on its website.
The Delta variant stopped circulating in the United States in 2021.
Oklahoma also says that so-called breakthrough cases, or post-vaccination infections, “happen in only a small percentage of vaccinated people.”
That hasn’t been true since Omicron displaced Delta in late 2021.
The California Department of Public Health links to a study from the CDC that was published in August 2021 when claiming that unvaccinated people who already had COVID-19 “are more than twice as likely as vaccinated people to get it again.”
Studies from late 2021and2022 show that post-infection protection, known as natural immunity, is superior to vaccination. Natural immunity has also held up better, but also waned against newer variants.
Heavy Reliance on the CDC
Nearly all of the state health agencies rely heavily on the CDC and other federal agencies.
Many repeatedly reference the CDC on their websites. The CDC has promoted misinformation on COVID-19 vaccines during the pandemic, including the unsupported claim that the vaccines protect young children against severe illness and promoting a study that exaggerated the COVID-19 death toll among children.
States that did provide evidence to back claims mostly cited CDC studies and documents.
The CDC publishes a quasi-journal called the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. The CDC has said (pdf) the publication is distinct from “all other health-related publications,” in part because the content “constitutes the official voice” of the CDC and because most articles are not peer-reviewed. Instead, multiple levels of CDC officials review a submission.
“By the time a report appears in MMWR, it reflects, or is consistent with, CDC policy,” the CDC said in one overview of the publication.
The CDC and its partner, the FDA, have aggressively promoted vaccination during the pandemic, even when little evidence supports the vaccines. The agencies have also repeatedly refusedto releaseCOVID-19 vaccinesafety data.
Dr. Todd Porter, a pediatrician in Illinois, said that the effort to get virtually all children vaccinated against COVID-19, despite the small amount of efficacy and safety data, is contributing to parents hesitating over other vaccines.
“This has created a much different conversation with parents of my patients with respect to benefit/harm and has further eroded parent confidence in public health and has made it harder for me to make recommendations for other more important proven vaccines,” Porter told The Epoch Times in an email. “Most notable has been lack of influenza vaccine uptake in my patients over the past year.”
Steps Forward
Regaining people’s trust is key to moving forward and involves acknowledging information that was conveyed is not correct, experts said.
“When a public health authority or federal official says something that’s incorrect, it has a responsibility to correct it. And when it doesn’t, when it just lets the matter lie, people continue to distrust them even more,” Bhattacharya said.
One example, he said, is how officials repeatedly said—and some are still saying—that the vaccines cut down on transmission, even though a top Pfizer executive recently acknowledged testing on transmission has not been done. The claim that vaccines curb transmission helped lead to vaccine mandates.
“I think it would go a long way if our nation’s public health institutions could demonstrate humility and acknowledge that in the panic of the pandemic they got it wrong where it comes to children,” Porter said.
The urge to get people vaccinated has led to some of the false and misleading claims, according to McCune, who saw the same pattern repeated during the rollout of the new boosters.
“You could have started with the bivalent booster and said, ‘this is what we know. We know some things about antibody levels from basic science studies that were done in animal models and from similar vaccines that were given to humans that we have a reason to believe these antibodies are going to improve,’” he said. “And then to say, ‘the reason we were approving this is we think that this has overall been a safe program, and we don’t anticipate there’ll be future problems. We’re making a leap here to try and get ahead of it, even though there’s some uncertainty.’ That’s an honest statement, but it’s not a very salesy statement.”
McCune foresees it taking years to rebuild trust in public health, and believes it will require changes at both the CDC and FDA.

FBI Whistleblower Speaks Out Amid Concerns the Agency Has Become Politicized
Suspended FBI special agent Steve Friend discusses why he came forward as a whistleblower, and what’s unfolded since. In September, Friend asserted that the FBI was violating policies and constitutional rights. He alleged that the FBI was deceptively handling Jan. 6 cases and cooking the books on domestic terrorism numbers, among other violations. He said his concerns were ignored by supervisors. Friend was later suspended pending an investigation.

Big Pharma Paid $24 Million to 1 Percent of US Oncologists, Many in High-Profile Positions: Study
Authors say findings identify risk of ‘real conflict of interest’
By Marina Zhang
July 6, 2022Updated: July 6, 2022
One percent of U.S. cancer doctors, many with leadership roles in hospitals, academia, national health institutes, and guideline-making, received over $24 million in payments from cancer pharmaceutical companies in 2018, according to a new study by Queen’s University in Canada.
The study found that 139 oncologists—representing 1 percent of all American cancer doctors—were given over $100,000 in general payments, with a median payment of around $154,000, and a total of $24.2 million.
“A payment of this magnitude creates a high risk” of conflict of interest, the authors wrote in the study, with $10,000 considered to be a significant payment by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The payments to these doctors made up 37 percent of all payments to oncologists in that year, including consulting fees, speaking fees, honoraria, and travel expenses from cancer medication companies.
“These physicians hold important leadership positions, draft treatment guidelines, and serve on journal editorial boards.”
“The findings identify a risk for perceived and real conflict of interest. Because of the leadership positions they hold, the potential impact of this small group of physicians on oncology practice and policy may be substantial,” the study’s lead author Dr. Anthony Booth told MedPage Today.
Further, the payments raise the concern that doctors may prescribe medication that is not as suitable for cancer patients, as conflict of interest “may be particularly problematic in oncology, as treatments are expensive, often have significant toxicities, and may be associated with modest benefits.”
The study authors found that 95 percent of these doctors were still practicing medicine, with many considered top-rated cancer doctors at the state or national level.
More than half—56 percent—also worked in academic settings; 31 percent worked at National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers, and a quarter—23 percent—worked at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a not-for-profit alliance of 32 leading cancer centers devoted to patient care, research, and education.
Many were also in medical leadership positions with 60 and 72 percent currently or previously holding hospital leadership or faculty appointments. One quarter—24 percent—have worked on journal editorial boards, and 21 percent have held leadership posts in special associations.
In particular, 10 percent have drafted clinical practice guidelines in committees for the past 5 years.
Many committees have rules on how much an author of guidelines is allowed to receive. The NCCN will challenge members if an individual receives more than $20,000 a year, which is only one-fifth of the baseline in the study.
A previous study also showed that only 16 percent of NCCN guideline authors did not accept general industry payments with other studies showing that NCCN guideline committees have higher financial ties to the industry than other oncologists.
“Oncology specialty associations, guideline panels, and journal editorial boards should reconsider if it is appropriate for physicians with such large payments to hold these high-profile positions,” the authors wrote.
They noted that revenue from pharmaceutical oncology drugs has increased by 70 percent over the past decade, while revenue in non-oncology drug revenue has decreased by 18 percent.
At the same time, the number and value of those payments to oncologists have also increased.
The study team also identified a total of 52,441 physicians who received modest payments related to oncology drugs from 2016 to 2018, with a median of $109 in 2018.
However, previous studies have shown that even “modest payments can influence physician behavior.”
Terminal Cancer Patient ‘Immersed in God’s Mercy’ During Organ Failure Coma—Woke up 30 Hours Later With a Message
Anita Moorjani is a New York Times bestselling author, and she was also a terminal lymphoma patient. When she was dying, she had a near-death experience that people usually don’t go through.
At that time, Moorjani had been fighting lymphoma for four years and was terminally ill. The cancer had spread, and her body was covered in tumors, some as big as lemons. She was only 85 pounds and “looked like a skeleton with skin” as she put it.
On the morning of February 2, 2006, Moorjani fell into a coma, as her organs began to fail and shut down. Doctors informed her family and announced that she would only live for a few more hours.
During this time, something miraculous happened. Although Moorjani’s eyes were closed, and she was still in a coma, her consciousness suddenly woke up.
She described the scene, “I felt myself expanding out of my body and could see my own body in the hospital bed.” She was like an extremely lucid and omnipresent bystander, who could be everywhere and anywhere at the same time.
She felt that her soul had entered another world, and she believed it to be heaven. She saw many beings there welcoming her. It seemed that every being was immersed in God’s mercy and unconditional love, making her realize the preciousness and greatness of life itself. She traveled for a long time in this world unbounded by time or space, seeing the past and future.
She suddenly realized that her life goals and choices had been distorted, that she had dealt with everything from a fearful and negative perspective, that she had lived a heavy life, and that all this had caused her cancer. “And I actually learned that my cancer would heal quickly after I returned to my body,” she said.
After more than 30 hours of being on the verge of death, Moorjani woke up miraculously. She declared to her family at her bedside, “I’m going to get better. It’s not time for me to die.”
Four or five days later, the tumors in her body had shrunk by 70 percent; within three weeks, her cancer had disappeared without a trace; and five weeks after she woke up, Moorjani was discharged from the hospital and went home.
She said that the most important thing she learned from this near-death experience was a new understanding of the meaning of life. It made her understand how she should live.
10 Phenomena of Near-Death Experiences
Modern research on near-death experiences dates back about 50 years, in the 1970s. However, descriptions of such experiences can be found as far back as ancient Greece.
Near-death experiences (NDEs) are vivid and often life-altering experiences, many of which occur under extreme physiological conditions such as trauma, cessation of brain activity, deep general anesthesia, or cardiac arrest. According to the popular view of neuroscience, any form of consciousness or sensory experience is impossible under such conditions.
Although NDEs vary from person to person, they usually have the following phenomena:
A feeling of comfort and absence of pain
A feeling of leaving the body, sometimes floating in the air and seeing one’s own body
The mind works more clearly and quickly than usual
A feeling of being pulled into a tunnel or darkness
Seeing a brilliant light, sometimes at the end of a tunnel
An overwhelming sense of peace and happiness, or unconditional love
The feeling of gaining unlimited knowledge
Looking back on one’s life, or remembering important events of the past
A sense of foreknowledge of future events
Encounters with deceased family members, relatives, friends, or religious figures
The details of Moorjani’s experience correspond to these phenomena. There are also people whose near-death experiences are different from the ones listed above and may be frightening or painful.
Causes of Near-Death Experiences
Many people describe NDEs as hallucinations from various causes. For instance, they are said to be caused by hypoxia, hypercapnia, hormone and neurotransmitter release, epilepsy, limbic lobe activation, REM intrusion, and brain dysfunction.
The most popular explanation for NDEs is the dying brain hypothesis. According to this hypothesis, NDEs are hallucinations caused by brain activity as cells begin to die.
Professor Sam Parnia, a well-known researcher of near-death experiences and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, wrote that scientifically speaking, there are no studies that provide definitive data that actually link the near-death experiences to abnormal brain states.
A study conducted by researchers at the University of Oregon and published in the journal Explore in 2021 emphasized that the seemingly plausible dying brain hypothesis does not explain the full range of features that may occur during a NDE, such as why people experience disembodiment.
Furthermore, there is much evidence that people have sensory-perceptual experiences during their NDEs. However, materialism argues that consciousness arises solely from the activity of the neurons in the brain and that people do not have such sensory perceptual experiences in extreme near-death situations.
Some people also believe that the sense of calm and blissfulness felt during the NDEs is due to the effects of drugs or even narcotics. However, study in QJM: An International Journal of Medicine suggests that this is not scientifically logical. Just as hugging can bring happiness, so can certain drugs, but it is not logical to say that the happiness from hugging is due to the drugs taken by the people who hug.
Researchers in Italy and Switzerland conducted two separate studies comparing the quality of memories of NDEs with the quality of imagined memories. Both found that memories of NDEs were inconsistent with fictitious experiences. Memories of near-death experiences were closer to memories of real-life events and appeared to be more real than real-life events.
One of the studies revealed that the brain waves when recalling NDEs are similar to the brain waves of real memories, which are different from the brain waves of imagined memories.
Near-death memories are clearer and contain more self-referential and emotional information than memories of real events and coma memories. Researchers have therefore concluded that NDEs cannot be considered as memories of imagined events.
Objectively speaking, although many phenomena of NDEs cannot be explained by the medical community, skeptics rarely accuse near-death experiencers of fabricating stories out of thin air. At least it can be said that the feeling of people having been there must have been real. NDEs are numerous and often well documented, including by reputable or respected medical professionals.
Dr. Eben Alexander is a neurosurgeon who has taught and practiced at several prestigious hospitals and colleges, including Harvard Medical School. He had a NDE after suffering from a rare form of meningitis and a severe coma. However, he later recovered in a short period of time. As he’s an expert in the field of neurology, Alexander studied his own medical history and came to the conclusion that he was in a deep coma during his near-death experience and that his brain had already shut down completely. He believed that the only explanation for what he felt and saw was that his soul was indeed detached from his body. However, this phenomenon cannot be confirmed by modern scientific testing methods.
Near-Death Experiences Can Cure Diseases?
Another impressive aspect of Moorjani’s story is that after her NDE, she was cured of her advanced lymphoma within a very short period of time, and the cancer cells disappeared from her body.
In addition to Moorjani and Alexander, many other people experience life miracles or life changes after near-death experiences. What are the reasons for these miracles?
People often report that during NDEs, their belief in the meaning of life increases. This is accompanied by a reduced fear of death, a greater sense of altruism, a greater sense of compassion and responsibility, and the ability to show greater love to others.
This type of physiological change brought about by this spiritual elevation may be one of the reasons for their improvement in illness.
Researchers of psychology, psychiatry, biobehavior, and immunology at the University of California published a joint study in the Annals of Behavioral Medicine. They followed 43 female participants and found that women who valued, or valued more than before, the search for meaning and purpose of life had more increased natural killer cell cytotoxicity (i.e. more powerful ability to kill foreign invaders) than women who did not. This implies that such individuals are also more resistant to cancer and viruses.
Natural killer cells are the body’s natural immune cells that kill a wide range of solid tumor cells and leukemia cells, as well as virus-infected cells. They act like armed police officers to capture and destroy the wrongdoers in the body. A decrease in their activity or number can lead to the development and metastasis of cancer and viral infections. In addition, many diseases, such as chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, immunodeficiency syndrome, and certain autoimmune diseases, are also associated with natural killer cells.
The belief and appreciation of the meaning of life play an important role in maintaining and enhancing physical and mental health.
Understanding the meaning of life leads to a more positive outlook on life and a greater sense of inner peace, which can help restore a sense of control over cancer and life. People who have lost their belief in the meaning of life tend to be reluctant to face life positively, have higher levels of depression and stress, and are less likely to get better from their illnesses.
Yale University published a study in the journal Palliative Supportive Care in 2014. In this study, by following 52 patients with advanced cancer, they found that spiritual well-being had a very strong impact on quality of life in such patients, even outweighing the impact of physical and emotional well-being.
Besides cancer, other diseases can also be greatly improved by spiritual elevation. In a study conducted by scholars from the Department of Psychology at Brigham Young University, 100 religious people between the ages of 15 and 59 found that the better the spiritual wellness, the lower the risk of heart disease-related blood pressure, inflammation, fasting glucose, and blood lipids.
