We are reminded that “All things, all beings, all energies are the One Infinite Creator.”
Therefore, every expression in nature — sunlight, water, plants, minerals, and even the sugars within fruit — are manifestations of intelligent energy.
“The Creator is experiencing Itself through every particle of creation.” — Law of one Session 1
From that standpoint, sugar is a crystallized form of light — solar energy stored through photosynthesis, condensed by the plant into sweetness. When you eat natural sugars with gratitude, you’re literally taking in light, energy transformed from sun to plant to your being.
Across mystical traditions, sweetness is a metaphor for divine grace and love:
In the Psalms: “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103). In Hinduism: Nectar (amrita) symbolizes divine immortality — spiritual sweetness. In Sufism: The soul “tastes the sweetness of God” through remembrance.
So, natural sugar — especially as found in fruit, honey, or cane — mirrors the Creator’s generosity, giving life, pleasure, and sustenance in balance.
The intent and balance behind our use of any substance determine whether it is truly sacred.
When sugar is refined, overconsumed, or used to numb emotion, its vibration becomes distorted — a misuse of intelligent energy. When it is received with gratitude and moderation, it remains a sacrament of light — the sweetness of life itself.
“Each portion of the Creator is sacred. It is the lack of awareness of this sacredness that causes distortion.” — Law of One Session 18
Thus, a ripe berry or the nectar of a fruit is a sacred communication from the plant kingdom — an offering of the sun’s love made edible.
When we eat consciously — blessing our food, thanking the plant, and feeling its light — we turn that simple act into a communion.
In summary natural plant sugars are a gift from God — a living reminder that life is meant to contain sweetness. The gift becomes distorted only through unconscious consumption or industrial manipulation. In balance, sugar is a symbol of divine joy, the Creator’s way of saying: “Taste and see that life is good.”
