Jesus Secret Sayings 1-8, No Longer Hidden

As we discussed in the Hidden sayings of Jesus, he  was  known throughout the world  with various titles. Spiritual leader, messiah, divine,  prophet,  Jewish preacher, religious leader, son of man, son of God and even God. Regardless of your relationship with Jesus, he had a message for all of mankind.

Jesus said “The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and images (66)all that is secret will be made known to all,  Luke 12:2.”  Has the time arrived?  One of the most important archaeological discovery in the 20th century occurred in 1945.  Thirteen ancient codices containing over 50 texts of Gnostic works were found in caves in Upper Egypt untouched by scribes. All can be found in the Nag Hammadi Library .

The Gospel of Thomas was one of those archaeological finds, 114 secret sayings of Jesus. It starts starting with  “These are the secret sayings which the living Jesus spoke and which Didymos Judas Thomas wrote down.”  Although they claim to be secret many of the sayings can be found in the old and new testament.

According to scholars, the discovery provided striking differences from orthodox beliefs. Instead of being separate from God, we are One with God.  Instead  of sin and repentance, 446f4fe6ef4f25b5f1cbd0e741da76b3_XLJesus speaks of illusion and enlightenment.  And finally, Instead of Jesus being  Lord and God, we are all from the same source, and Jesus is our spiritual guide.  Edgar Cayce said Christian Gnosticism was the highest form of Christianity.  Cayce also said Jesus  is the central instrument of God to make it possible for all souls to fulfill the original purpose of their creation and even connected Buddha with Jesus.   Law of One said Jesus  was desirous of entering this planetary sphere in order to share the love vibration in as pure a manner as possible. With that said,  let’s explore  the first 8 secret sayings of Jesus.

And he said,

(1) “Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death.”

My understanding is, if you interpret and apply the meaning of the 114 sayings in Gnosticism-why-todayyour life,  you will not experience death.  From an Eastern perspective,  you will stop the cycle of  reincarnation.  Jesus has a similar saying in  John 8:51  “Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my sayings, he shall never see death”.

(2) Jesus said: He who seeks, let him not cease seeking until he finds; and when he finds he will be troubled, and when he is troubled he will be amazed, and he will reign over the All.

Seeking the truth is a life journey, never stopping.  Seeing the spiritual world  from a different perspective, even esoteric, providing  different understanding  than we have been taught, may cause some anxiety.  You  realize the world is not as it seems. The more you seek, you discover the real truth and realize the amazing power within, becoming one with the creator .

Other references to seeking the truth can be found in   John 8:32  “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” and  Luke 11:9-13

jesusegg300(3). Jesus said: If those who lead you say to you: See, the kingdom is in heaven, then the birds of the heaven will go before you; if they say to you: It is in the sea, then the fish will go before you. But the kingdom is within you, and it is outside of you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will know that you are the sons of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you are in poverty, and you are poverty.

We all have been program since birth and only know the material world. We all want to know the truth and in this saying Jesus is telling us if we listen to our religious leaders the birds and fish will proceed us to the kingdom of  heaven.  Instead we are being told to look within ourselves as well as outside and then we will know our true selves. God is pure unknowable energy encompassing all.  If not, we will be lost.

The Gnostics spoke of a divine spark of God is within all of us.    Jesus  also alludes to the same concept in Luke 17:20-21

According to the Law of One, we are here to learn the ways love and wisdom, be of service to others and if we do not learn we reincarnate until we learn the lesson.

Buddha said “Everyone has recognized the Self one’s essential nature. But few have realized it”.  From Lao Tzu, “Wisdom comes from knowing oneself. He who knows himself is enlightened.” Krishna added, ” The self resides in all beings but it is only _DSC5982copy (2)recognizable to those with intuitive abilities.

(4) Jesus said, “The man old in days will not hesitate to ask a small child seven days old about the place of life, and he will live. For many who are first will become last, and they will become one and the same.”

When we look a newborn or even a child, don’t you ever wonder, what do they know that I don’t and if they could only talk;  A child has just arrived in our world from the divine. An older person living in the material world may  question his life will not hesitate to ask a child of seven days about Heaven. Many who caught up in the material world who  were here first will be last to become one with God because of the cycle of reincarnation. This can be found in Luke 10:21-22,and Luke 13:30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

(5) Jesus said, “Recognize what is in your sight, and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you . For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest.”

mistic46_00_smallWhen you Seek the truth, you will understand the world we now live, the material and immaterial world. You will begin to realize your thoughts, emotions and actions create our reality and see things differently than before.   Nothing will be hidden  and everything hidden will be made known. Such as the discovery of the Gospel of Thomas and other ancient text now known as the Nag Hammadi Library.

Jesus also said in Luke 8:17 “For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing concealed that will not be known and illuminated”  and again in Luke 12:2 “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed,or hidden that will not be made known”  and also in Matthew 10:26  “So do not be afraid of them. For nothing is concealed that will not be uncovered, or hidden that will not be made known”.

(6) His disciples questioned him and said to him, “Do you want us to fast? How shall we pray? Shall we give alms? What diet shall we observe?” Jesus said, “Do not tell lies, and do not do what you hate, for all things are plain in the sight of heaven. For nothing hidden will not become manifest, and nothing covered will remain without being uncovered.”

images (28)Like saying 5 nothing hidden that will not be revealed. Our thoughts, emotions and actions, everything we do is in plain sight of our Creator. The Law of Karma applies as well as divine grace.   Tobit 4:15  Never do to anyone else anything that you would not want someone to do to you. Do not drink so much wine that you get drunk, and do not let drinking become a habit.

Matt 6:5-15 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward.

Buddha said “harm returns to the person who does harm. It is like throwing dust in the wind.”

(7) Jesus said, “Blessed is the lion which becomes man when consumed by man; and cursed is the man whom the lion consumes, and the lion becomes man.”

It is about ego. The lion is the ego and when man puts it away it is a blessing but when ego becomes the man, then man is lost.  The lion also represents Leo,  individuals are independent and dominant. Known to be the most authoritative amongst all the Signs of Zodiac, Leos or Lions are often brave-hearts, and their confidence, ambition and positive thinking are exemplary and unparalleled.

(8) And he said, “The man is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of small fish. Among them the wise fisherman found a fine large fish. He threw all the small fish back into the sea and chose the large fish without difficulty. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”

This verse is about greed and how to use wisdom in our daily lives. Do not take more than you need is an important concept to learn and practice in our daily lives.

Buddha said “Wisdom is achieved by those who overcome their natural resistance to diligent practice.” and Lao Tzu said, “if one is seeking wisdom, there is no need to leave home.”

download (11)Orthodox Christianity labeled gnosticism as heresy  creating fear among christian seekers of truth. Perhaps we should asked why they did not want humanity to discover the truth for themselves? The Law of One addressed negative and positive energy. Positive is allowing free-will, love, compassion, wisdom, serving others while negative is controlling others by fear.

We live in a time where we can learn and discuss with each other.  I invite you to share your thoughts so we all may learn.  Next month we will discuss verses 9 through 16.  You can find different  english translations of the Gospel of Thomas here.

I also would like to share  Thomas Francisco Pelgero   interpretation of the  Gospel of Thomas  he said he completed in 14 hour based on his awakening.   Also Scott Mandelker, PhD   combines eclectic Western psychology with intensive study of Eastern religions, and followed upon years of formal training in US and Asian Buddhist temples provides his  commentary and understanding in comparison with Buddhist and other eastern concepts and religion on the first eight verses.   This is information for you to find your truth and understanding of this crazy mixed up world we live in today.

Prince Siddhartha Gautama- Husband, Father, the Buddha

Prince Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha, was born and raised with every possible advantage. He was born around 563 BCE near or around present day Nepal near the India Border. Unfortunately, his mother, Maya died seven days after his birth. Her sister, Prajapati, became his step mother. His father, King Suddhodana made every buddha in castlepossible effort to keep his son shielded from the unpleasant world even knowing about death. His father made great efforts to hide the suffering from his son, even going as far as building another city to remove the poverty, sick and dying. Not seeing the real world, Gautama was married to Yaśodhara, daughter of King Suppabuddha. and had a son. Despite his father’s efforts to shield his son from the woes of the world, Gautama, did sneak away to explore. For the first time he saw a sick person, and old person and a corpse. He met a samara, an ancient download (11) buddha wifeHindu ascetic who, despite of all the poverty and ills of the world, was serene and happy.

Gautama, after seeing the real world, knew there was more to life and wanted to seek the spiritual truth. He had to become a samara, a life of severe self-discipline and abstention from all forms of indulgence. He left against his family wishes.

His first order of business was finding a teacher. He began his studies under Alara, a famed yogi who taught him the meditative consciousness called the, “sphere beyond materiality”. He then went to Uddaka Ramaputta, who taught him how to reach the sphere of “neither perception nor non-perception.” Gautama realized neither of these were the highest attainments of spirituality. He added extreme asceticism to his practice by fasting and not bathing. He images (54) buddha teacherrealized that drastic measures were going to kill him, so he renounced the life of pain as he did pleasure.

At a loss, Gautama rested under a tree. He thought, as a child attending to his breath made him more acutely aware of his surroundings and dispelled any feelings of boredom or unrest. The path to nibbana might lie in the form of contemplation or meditation, so he tried this technique again. The Pali accounts of what happened next are sparse. Later legends describe the onslaught of temptation and torment from images (54) buddhathe demon like Mara, designed to sway him from his goal. Gautama did not sway and as confidence bolsters, his mind expanded as he gained deeper insights into the human condition. Just as the morning star appeared in the sky before dawn, he became aware of the fact that he had finally discovered the ultimate truth. From that point on he was known as the Buddha.

Buddha’s wife and son later join him as disciples.

Buddha teaching is still cherish today.  But like all things, man has incorporated personal teachings so finding Buddha core teachings is a difficult task. Scott Mandelker PhD provides his views-Action-Path in Buddha-Dhamma in this  extended analysis  series of Buddhist teaching on 10 Wrong Views, human rebirth & cosmology, 3 Marks, karmic results and path to Sotapanna awakening.
