The basic fundamentals are taming the unruly mind and being mindful of our thoughts, speech and actions. While as much as possible, avoid destructive ways of thought, speech and actions while cultivating positive and constructive ways of thought, speech and actions. This requires taming the mind, by ridding it of confusion about reality and about behavioral cause and effect.
Buddha teachings are; Commit not anything negative at all; splendidly enact what is constructive; fully subdue your own mind.
Negative means something self-destructive, something that causes problems and unhappiness to others. Splendidly enact what is constructive means something that brings about positivity and happiness for all.
Meditation is the tool to fully subdue your mind. Meditation is a natural relaxation state of the mind. The proper way to meditate is just start, developing a practice over time. Do what works for you. Sitting in a chair or floor with good posture, close your eyes, take 5–10 slow deep breaths, following your breath. Your relaxing your mind so try not to think of anything. Just focus on a point in the front of eyes. You will find your thoughts drifting to problems just bring the focus back to the point in front of the eyes. The time you meditate is up to you.
The above describes the first step of Dzogchen,an esoteric tradition of teachings considered to be the highest and most definitive path to enlightenment by Tibetan Buddhism, known for the Rainbow Body. Buddha found enlightenment with the breath sitting under a tree. So with the will and wisdom, dzogchen becomes an incredibly profound and effective method for achieving enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. Is it contradictory to accept reality and yet visualize for a better world? The acceptance of reality is just that, accepting what is currently occurring, visualization is for what is to come.
We worry constantly about what is happening, what may or may not happen. It is prudent to our own psychological well being as well as our spiritual growth to accept our reality as it comes to fruition, as this acceptance can bring peace to our psyche. I believe when we begin to accept reality as it is, it actually empowers us to change the reality of our world. Rather than looking at anything negative that we believe is our reality, if we find the love in it – the silver lining, then our reality begins to change. Our reality serves as a catalyst for our spiritual growth to teach us the ways of unconditional love. When we accept our reality, we begin to understand our purpose and role in this life.
Visualization through meditation is the practice of seeing and listening through the heart.
It’s one of the paths of making the mind and heart one. Studies have found that the human mind does not distinguish the difference between our own experience and that of which we experience through our eyes or dreams. Therefore; simply watching a program or playing a video game in which our body begins to react to our thoughts, our mind believes we are actually experiencing the event. The saying is we become what we think, our thoughts can and do create our reality. Every thought is a form of energy, we send that energy out into the world and it begins to manifest. Visualizing positive thoughts through the heart makes a direct connection to the mind increasing the intensity of our thoughts, sending positive energy out into our world and universe.
Visualization however, requires more than just the act of love through the heart and sight through the mind’s eye, it also requires a complete faith and trust of oneself.
How much of an impact do our intentions have on us and our world? Our lives are programmed from the first phase of birth, programmed to eat on a schedule, to sleep on a schedule, to work on a schedule. We have become so accustomed to being programmed we even program ourselves. We create an intense catalog mentally of our responses to specific stimuli, in return when experienced again our subconscious takes over and goes into autopilot. Reacting and/or responding to our repeat of the same experience. What happens when we stop ourselves and actually think through the intention of the outcome rather than the outcome itself? Are we truly living life or merely trying to survive it? Ask yourself, how many times throughout my day do I just go through the motions, never giving a thought as to why I’m taking the action.
Does that mean if I respond the same way each time to a specific comment or action, I’m acting from pre-programming? No, not necessarily. Let’s take for instance a loved one saying I love you, normally a typical response is to confirm you love them as well. Now ask yourself, when you say it do you just say the words or do you actually wish to convey to the person the actually feeling of love you feel in your heart. Your answer is not only indicative of your self programming but also of your spiritual well being.
When we go through the motions without intentions, we rob ourselves of the emotions, rewards and growth the action alone fails to garner. How do completely benign thoughts and actions fill and affect our world? Studies regarding placebos indicate that when we believe we are taking medication that helps us the outcome can be a measured positive response. When we take a placebo our intention is to heal, and we tell our bodies such and it makes it so. Therefore our intentions not only affect our emotional state so that we actually experience the moment, we find that intention also affects our physical bodies as well.
The New York Times Bestseller, The Hidden Messages in Water, documents the extraordinary life work of Dr. Emoto regarding the impact of human thoughts, emotions and intentions on water crystallization. The study had a profound impact on our understanding of the effect of our thoughts and intentions on the world around us. The study showed beautiful and intricate crystals formed when positive intentions and thoughts were impressed upon the glass of water, when negative thoughts and intentions were impressed upon the same water the crystals were dark and ill formed, if formed at all.
Our intention adds the abstract layer of a focused outcome, one in which we not only create the thought or action but do so with a mindfulness making us fully aware of the moment. In doing so we not only capture the emotional impact of the moment but we expand our spirituality with the acknowledgement of the connection between our heart and minds. Studies already prove that human consciousness has more to do with our reality than human intelligence. Want a better day? Want a better life? Want a better world? Our intentions can and do impact the physical world around us, how much can we change ours by living in the moment, by acting and thinking with positive intention?
Nirvana, enlightenment, Christ Consciousness, many words used to describe a state of higher consciousness a state of loving all. Becoming one with all, stepping beyond our own human limits and rising to our spiritual level which has no boundaries. Measly words created by man can barely describe that of which we know and understand, trying to use those same words to describe that of which exists only in faith, only within ones self can never convey it to a level of understanding that will come on an intellectual level. That however is where the fun begins.
It’s called the “veil”. Such as the bride who hides behind the veil to only be exposed at the time of unity – the uniting of two to become one. Same holds true with the “veil” that each of us live behind as a spiritual being living a human experience. The “veil” only to be dropped when we have reached the unity of oneness with our One Creator. When we reach the acceptance of Love, that it is not just what we do or how we feel, it is who we are. Love is all, it’s oneness; it is the very reason for our existence.
Spirituality has been described as that of which is revealed in the silence when looking within ones self to understand the true message given to mankind throughout the ages in sacred texts. Silence…., who hears anything in the silence, isn’t that in itself contradictory? Silence is defined as having no audible sound, to hear nothing according to the dictionary.
Therein lies the challenge, how does one find the silence within? There’s so much noise today, not just on the outside but within us. We worry about finances, love, family, health, politics, we worry about worrying. Our minds don’t stop long enough to hear silence, we are constantly thinking about whats next, family, friends, chores, trips, health and life. Most of us can’t even hear ourselves speak.
In Greek during biblical days, the word silence meant to keep peace. Therefore; when one keeps peace within themselves – within the silence, the truth is revealed. Much like the varying definitions of the word silence, each of us will also have varying definitions as it applies to us. Silence doesn’t always mean a clear, empty mind, sometimes it may just be observed as a peacefulness within. There is no right or wrong way to reflect upon ones own image, peeling back the layers of what we not only hide from others but hide from ourselves.
The search within is a catalyst for most, if not all along the spiritual path. Searching and listening for the silence, waiting for that noticeable change within. The change begins the minute we opt to pursue the path of spirituality, the minute our mind accepts things aren’t as they seem. We notice subtle changes in our thought process. However; for some this is the point that seems to lead to frustration, and for some a hesitation to continue along the path. A feeling of inferiority, a feeling of failure, these feelings are normal, they are a part of the path. That is the voice we hear in the silence, its not telling us to condemn and judge ourselves its showing us the areas we must focus on and bring into balance. We all struggle and stumble within the silence. Struggle to understand the message, and stumbling by judging our self. The silence can become stronger when we have no level of expectation, but simply an acceptance and love for our self. Loving and accepting of ones self is the ultimate catalyst for spiritual growth, without the love of our self how do we love our neighbors as our self?
Spiritual growth is why we are here. It is a lifetime endeavor of seeking the truth and to know our true-selves. We live in a world that is not what it seems and the physical and metaphysical worlds are inseparable. There is a vibrating constant energetic motion within all things called Qi or prana, depending on your culture . We are energetic beings radiating positive and negative energy with our thoughts, emotions and actions creating our reality, and our unruly minds control it. There are distortions and confusions that add to the unruliness. We have been programmed since birth regarding our belief systems. There are 7 billion people in this world radiate energy and we as a collective, created our world.
Spiritual growth is listening and trusting your higher- self. We all have guides or angels if we pay attention. We all have the gift of discernment or intuition, we just have to learn to trust ourselves.
Daily meditation, even if it is just five minute will help calm the mind and in time, provide a path the the higher self. There is no one method of meditation better than another. Buddha said “Meditation brings wisdom; lack of mediation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.”
Once a person realizes the divine energetic field they begin to experience the energy fields of nature including plants, animals and humans. You feel more love and compassion to all living things. As you grow, so will your awareness, your purpose and understanding. The Chinese sage Lao Tzu “ A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”

As we go through life, sooner or later we will face disturbing effects of illness, diseases and failing health. The medical system is failing, ran by the pharmaceutical corporations; our food supply is being replaced by nutrient deficient food; genetically modified foods and, glyphosate has been found in the water supply. Even the air we breathe is questionable. When we are focused on all the obstacles we face daily, it is difficult to stay committed to a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes it helps to remember we are here for a purpose; to discover our true selves.
With falling health, our human bodies become frail, our minds become confused with fear and anger, feeling defeated. But our spirit, our higher self, tells us to keep going, to not give up. Most do not realize that we have been programmed since birth. Our education, media, political and religious systems play an integral part of who we have become and how we think. Our lives are connected to family, friends, work, school and the material world, all affecting our health; positively and negatively.
As we begin to discover our true selves, spiritual healing begins with the realization there is a Source, Universal Intelligence of pure sacred energy, that connects us all. Buddha said, “Hard it is to train the mind, which goes where it likes and does what it wants. But a trained mind brings health and happiness. The wise can direct their thoughts, subtle and elusive, whenever they choose: a trained mind brings health and happiness.”
We have to deprogram ourselves, so to speak, and perhaps think differently. There is another world that is inseparable from our physical world that cannot be detected with the five senses; our metaphysical world. It is the world of the Source, pure energy simply beyond our understanding. It is the energy generated by our hearts and minds. Science is beginning to study what we already know. One study makes a striking correlation between heart rate and the electromagnetic energy from the sun and earth. Even health care providers are understanding the correlation between spirituality, religion and mental health.
The Source is our life line. In Chinese cultures, this is known as chi or qi and other cultures ki, prana, chakras and kundalini. Our body, mind, and spirit have a life force we call electromagnetic energy or energy that cannot even be measured or thoroughly understood. Sunlight is something we cannot live without. Light is the food for all life on earth. The human body, according to the doctrine of chromotherapy, is basically composed of colors. Isn’t that what Jesus said, We are from the Light? We know insufficient sunlight will result in low Vitamin D deficiencies, leading to the development of prostate and breast cancer, memory loss, and an increased risk for developing dementia and schizophrenia. We have been told to wear sunscreen to protect ourselves but what is really happening? We are light beings with chakras and the energy of the sun has the colors of the rainbow. Every creature and plant on earth is engulfed in light that affects its health conditions.
Grounding, as we all know when we go to the beach, improves sleep and reduces stress. Grounding is bare skin to the earth, perhaps walking or performing Qigong or chi gong, or any meditative practice outside barefoot. It is an excellent way to cultivate energy. We all wear shoes and that prevents us from getting the benefits from the earth. Grounding is a simple way to prevent and help inflammation with these techniques.
Emotions control who we are and what be become. Paracelsus, Father of Modern Medicine said “The spirit is the master, imagination the tool, and the body the plastic material . . . The power of the imagination is a great factor in medicine. It may produce diseases in man and in animals, and it may cure them . .. Ills of the body may be cured by remedies or by the power of the spirit acting through the soul.” Thoughts and emotions control our destiny, so think what you want to become and do it in love, the strongest of all emotions.
Meditation and prayer are our connection to the Source but also essential in controlling the overactive mind. According to Dr. Andrew Newberg, meditation and prayer positively changes our brains. He also said that the brain has two primary functions that can be considered from either a biological or evolutionary perspective. Essentially, we are hard-wired for God, the Source.
A 12 minute exercise, called the Kirtan Kriya is a type of meditation, practiced daily for 8 weeks, will improve cognition and activate parts of the brain that are central to memory.
The power of visualization is a tool we can use for healing. Your brain is constantly using visualization in the process of simulating future experiences. This happens so naturally we generally aren’t even aware it is happening, much like we are unaware of our breathing or heart beating. If you are not aware of it then you are not actively directing the process. You can learn to use visualization to actively create future simulations that can help you improve goals that you set for yourself, such as healing. The same thing may apply to the lost mode of prayer. Visualizing your prayer as if it has already happened instead of asking for it.
We live in a world of distractions. Fear, anger, stress and greed will wear the body down, but love is the one emotion that will overcome all. In your own way, try to cultivate love in everything you do. Jesus said love your neighbor as you love yourself. According to the Law of One, our purpose on earth is to learn to balance love and wisdom and be of services to others. Healing starts with the mind and the realization of the power within, a change from traditional thinking. It is just you, your higher self with help from the Source. All the same divine energy connecting as one. All waiting on you.
Religion teaches us rituals, tradition and belief systems. Have they misinterpreted the message regarding looking within yourself to find God by not teaching the concept? In Luke 17:21 Jesus said “nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.” There are many interpretations of that one verse.
To know yourself may seem simple, but do we really know ourselves. Our lives are connected to families and friends living in the physical world of media, religion, governments, corporations, banks and education. We are living it everyday, all day, every week, month and year, year after year. That is all we know. We have been made to believe we are advanced technologically, but in reality, we are mere children, playing in the world playground. We have world information at our fingertips, to study, to learn and inspire. In the meantime we are watching our home, mother earth, being destroyed, and even allowing it by remaining silent. Are we the meek? Have we have lost our way? Perhaps we have forgotten who we are, why we are here and where we are going. Even though your part in this great illusion may seem small, you have no idea of the importance of your presents on this planet at this time in our history.
There are 7.7 billion of us on this planet and within each is a Divine Spark, Spirit or Soul waiting to be awaken and find their Way. Most disregard this concept simply because it is not something the five senses nor scientific evidence can detect. Our emotions, feelings and thoughts create our reality more than we will ever realize. Many seekers have found the Way to the metaphysical world that exists right before our eyes. Their studies included studying and contemplating the many ancient teachings and recent information available to us today.
One of the many teachings are the Secret Teachings of Jesus found in the Gospel of Thomas, discovered in 1945 with other ancient texts. Jesus’ message was of love and enlightenment and not of sin and repentance as taught by the Church. In his sayings, Jesus tells us to look within, to know ourselves; to seek the truth; we are from the light; Recognize what is in our sight, and that which is hidden from us will become plain to us. For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest. He had many messages of his 114 sayings first interpreted in 1959 and more translations in the 70’s.
The wisdom teaching of Buddha, who could have been King but chose the Way as the path of seeking enlightenment by looking within. His teachings provide much insight into mindfulness and meditation techniques putting our lives into perspective. He also tells us to look within, to know ourselves. Buddha said, “Seeking within, you will find stillness. Here there is no more fear or attachment-only joy.”
The Tao Te Ching is probably one of the wisest ancient books, reported to be written by the sage named Lao Tzu over 2500 years ago. It is about living in unity with nature, the Way and teaches us to look within. One saying from the Tao Te Ching, “He who knows the Way does not let it show. Neither does he seek to be rewarded by anyone. Those who know the Way find their reward within themselves.”
The fundamental teaching of Hinduism is that a human being’s basic nature is not confined to the body or the mind. Beyond both of these is the spirit or the spark of God within the soul. In the Katha Upanishad, Krishna said ” God allowed man to look outward, but in seeith the outer the inner ignored Those who see the eternal, turn their gaze within.”
Rumi was a 13th-century Sufi Mystic and Persian poet, jurist, Islamic scholar and theologian. His quotes are transforming, based upon love, hope, inspiration, and awakening. Rumi said “Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart.”
The Law of One, is a channelling event that occurred in 1981–84. It is recorded and documented in a question and answer format taking over 3 years. It has been said it was the greatest spiritual message since Jesus. It reveals our purpose, the consequences of our behavior and what even happens at death. It has intense teachings and one is of our energy channels, Chakras, how to balance ourselves. To balance is to know ourselves,and to know ourselves is our foundation.
To know yourself is the message from our teachers. The language that the Divine Matrix recognizes prayer as imagining it already happened instead of wishing for it to happen. Remember our thoughts, emotion and actions create our reality. Be surrounded by your prayer as if it already has been answered. Ask without judgement whether right or wrong or ego and ask from the heart and feel the results as if it already has happened .
You do not have to be of any particular religion or any religion. Open your heart and seek within. To know yourself is unique to each of us. This uniqueness evolves as we seek the truth with love and service to others. When you know yourself, there will be no more fear, only understanding of your purpose. Meditation, contemplation, study, thanksgiving and prayer are tools for the great journey.
